Buying a business in Spain is a relatively straight forward procedure and we are here to guide you each step of the way. Step 1 – Decide on your criteria, having allowed for the required costs involved in buying a business.

Step 2 – Review and select businesses to from our website and contact us to arrange a viewing.

Step 3 – Once you have chosen the right business for you, the purchase price will be negotiated on your behalf and once your offer has been accepted, an Option Contract will be offered, which once signed and a deposit paid will secure the business to you. The deposit required is 10% for Traspaso (leasehold) or 5,000 Euros, whichever is greater, or 5% for freehold purchases. This contract reserves your right to buy the business for the period agreed in the contract and ensures that the seller will retract the business from the market whilst you complete the steps of the purchase.

Your financial advisor or lawyer will be responsible for the negotiation of the new lease, title deeds (escrituras), will confirm the trading licenses are in place, and that all service bills, rents, rates and taxes etc are paid to date.

Step 4 – On the agreed completion date, contracts will be signed by both parties and exchanged. The balance of the purchase price will be required at this point in order to complete the transaction.

Step 5 – In addition to assisting you in the purchase of your business, we are also uniquely placed to assist you in obtaining your residential listing, either a long term rental or the purchase of a listing, simply advise us of your exact requirements and we will search for your home to complete the package. Then when it’s time to move, we can arrange the relocation and transport of your belongings to your chosen destination.
